HUNTING TOURISM in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has more than 10,000 square kilometres of forest area (about 1/10 of the country's territory) suitable for the breeding of wild animals and the development of hunting sports.
The hunting season in Bulgaria traditionally starts in mid-August with the shooting of small migratory game - quail, doves, woodcock, woodcock and snipe.
Hunting for big game starts later, from 1 October. Then the shooting of pheasant, grey partridge, etc. opens.

Hunters in Bulgaria are well aware of their responsibility to take care of game. Programmes have been established to preserve and maintain wildlife populations.
The National Union of Hunters and Fishermen pays special attention in this direction.
Hunting of 22 game species is allowed in Bulgaria.

The hunter’s reward is a unique trophy.
But the feeling of communicating with flora and fauna in Bulgaria is very strong, not only when one carries a gun.

As far back as 5000 years ago, wine began to be made on the territory of the present-day Bulgarian lands. The beginning of viticulture and winemaking was laid by the Thracians, who were considered one of the best winemakers of antiquity.
